Before You Register:

4-H Enrollment

Head to http://mn.4honline.com to sign up for 4-H, re-enroll, or make any changes to your contact information.  Please make sure everything is up to date and current on your member profile before you begin fair registration.

Animal ID’s

Animals must be ID’ed online by May 15 (February 15 for Market Beef) . Late animal entries will be ineligible to receive State Fair Trips and purple ribbon or higher awards. 4-H ear tags are required on market beef and commercial females, dairy steers, meat and dairy market goats, sheep (except registered ewes), gilts and barrows.  See http://z.umn.edu/animalidinfo for more information.

Registration Important Notes

Final Deadline: June 9

Registration tells us which projects you would like to exhibit at the fair.  Head to the projects section of this website to read the information and requirements for each project.  Be sure to read this thoroughly for each project you are entering.

Special Considerations

Our goal is to make County Fair a positive learning experience for all youth. Sometimes there are considerations and requests that we need to be aware of in order to make this possible. If you have any of these, please fill out a “special considerations” form to let us know! These forms can be found online at: http://z.umn.edu/specialconsiderations. For more information see: http://z.umn.edu/4Haccessibility.

Step-by-Step Instructions

When you’re ready to register for the fair, head online to:

Click on “Sign in with 4HOnline”.  This will bring up a popup window - watch for pop-up blocker notices and/or a hidden window.

In the popup window you’ll need to enter your 4HOnline login email and password (or this is an opportunity to request a forgotten password).

If this is your FIRST TIME logging in, you will see a welcome screen:

The next step is to create entries:

For livestock entries, you can add multiple entries for an animal using the following steps:

You may or may not have questions to answer related to the class you selected.  If so (or not), click “Continue” after entering the requested information.
  • In some cases you may run into errors or situations where you cannot proceed. If you see a “blue” button or information, follow the instructions to complete the tasks indicated.  Most often, it will be a question about entering the animal into the auction.
  • Review the entry and then click “Continue”

At this point you can do the following:
  • Click “Add another Entry” to continue adding entries
  • Click “Register another Exhibitor” to change to another family member
  • Click “Continue to Payment” (there are no fees or payments needed, but this step is required to complete your registration)
    • If you select “Continue to Payment”, to submit the registrations for the whole family, follow the steps as prompted to submit the “invoice”
        • Once an invoice has been submitted, it will automatically be approved so that you can go back to submit additional invoices.  Staff will manually approve all invoices at a later time, and follow up with you if there are any errors or concerns.
        • You can log back in at any time to review entries previously created.
When logging back in, you will find your family profile in one of two “invoice statuses”:

Invoice un-submitted

  • You can continue adding or completing entries on that invoice (click the “edit” button next to the 4-H’ers name).
  • Entries cannot be changed, but they can be deleted from an un-submitted invoice

Invoice submitted and approved

  • Prior to June 10, you can add new entries by starting a new invoice.
  • Previously submitted entries can be reviewed but cannot be deleted or changed. Please contact the office to make any changes or deletions.
