Abstract Submission Criteria
All disaster-related topics are accepted. Themes are listed in the next page.
Abstracts must be written in ENGLISH in no more than 350 words (not including title, authors and affiliations).
Abstracts should contain work that has not been previously published. All studies relevant to the practice of emergency medicine are accepted.
All authors should agree with the content of the abstract and consent to be included as authors before submission. Abstract must include the complete first name, family name, affiliated institution, country. Do not include titles (Dr / Prof / Dato’ etc.).
Abstracts must be structured as follows:
Original Research: Introduction, Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusion and Keywords.
Quality Improvement Projects: Background/Problem, Aim/Purpose, Methods/Intervention, Results/Outcomes, Conclusions/Lessons Learned and Keywords
Case report/case series: Introduction, Case description, Discussion, Conclusion and Keywords
A maximum of 3 abstract keywords are allowed. Do not include tables, images, figures and bibliographic references.
For all abbreviations used, spell the name in full when they are first mentioned, followed by the abbreviation in parenthesis.
Use SI units for all measurements.
Authors must specify any relationship (employment, consulting, fees, conference fees, classes, courses, commercial shares or copyright) they may have with any organization with direct or indirect financial interest on the topic or the materials dealt within the presentation. If there were any conflicts of interest, authors must declare during submission.
Only abstracts judged to be of high quality and relevance will be accepted. The submission should be carefully proof-read by the authors.
Failure to comply with these requirements will exclude the abstract from consideration.
Notification of acceptance will be sent to the submitting author with further instructions.
Accepted abstracts are eligible for presentation after receiving full registration fee from the presenting author. If registration fee of the presenter is not received by 1st July 2025, the paper is assumed to have been withdrawn.
Shortlisted submission will be invited for oral presentation during the conference. The first author will be contacted via email for further details by 1st July 2025.
All accepted abstracts will be considered for publication in the conference supplement of the official WACEM journal: Western Journal of Emergency Medicine.

ORAL PRESENTATION
Following abstract review, the top three submissions in each category (Original Research/Quality Improvement Project and Case Report/Case Series) will be selected for oral presentation.
• Date: 19th July 2025 , 1400H - 1540H
• Format: Presentations should expand upon the submitted abstract, utilising visual aids (e.g., slides).
• Duration: 10 minutes per presentation, followed by a 5-minute question and answer session.
• Awards: The best presentation in each category will receive a Certificate of Achievement and a cash prize:
o Original Research/Quality Improvement Project: RM 500
o Case Report/Case Series: RM 300
All oral presenters will receive a Certificate of Participation.
