For Thesis/Capstone Project 1
The subject teachers submit the list of research groups to the RC. Then, the RC will prepare the schedule and send a copy via email to the subject teachers for information dissemination. Moreover, the RC will also post the schedule on the CCE SDLRC Bulletin Board or CCE Research Center Google Site. The schedule of the outline defense starts on the 6th or 7th week of the term.
If the research group is not currently enrolled in Thesis/Capstone Project 1 but has already been endorsed by their research adviser for outline defense, please see the college RC as soon as possible.
For Thesis/Capstone Project 2
The schedule of the Final Defense is prepared in advanced. The schedule of the final defense for all (enrolled) research groups is two weeks after the 1st Term Final Exam.
The subject teachers submit the list of research groups to the RC. Then, the RC will prepare the tentative schedule and send a copy via email to the subject teachers for information dissemination. Moreover, the RC will also post the schedule on the CCE SDLRC Bulletin Board or CCE Research Center Google Site.
If the research group is not currently enrolled in Thesis/Capstone Project 2 but has already been endorsed by their research adviser for final defense, please see the college RC as soon as possible.
Please note that the Outline or Final Defense Schedules schedule is prepared in advanced. Therefore, the research group must submit the following documents at least 3 days before their scheduled defense to RC
For Outline Defense
Research Title Form - reviewed and signed by the RA, RC, and the dean.
Research Undergraduate Agreement - signed by students (individually), parent/guardian, and RA
Parental Consent - signed by parent /guardian and subject teacher; must be notarized with parent/guardian valid ID with three specimen signatures.
Endorsement Letter (with RA, ST, RC, and Dean's signatures)
updated exam permits (of the current exam period)

As per the Research Agreement:
Section 9. The researcher/s shall deliver an oral defense as scheduled by the RC before the final exam. Failure to submit themselves for oral examination forfeits their right to obtain a passing grade. Likewise, failure to submit a bounded duly approved final manuscript on time shall cause a grade of 7.2, which should be completed within the standard completion days as the UM registrar prescribes. No extension shall be entertained.
Section 10. If the researcher/s failed to meet or satisfy the requirements and criteria for title, outline, and final defenses, they shall be given another chance through re-defense. This re-defense is granted only once. Should the researcher/s fail during the re-defense, they shall be given a failing grade and must reenroll the course.

Each team is given 3 plagiarism check attempts for the entire duration of their thesis/capstone project. On the 4th attempt, the group must pay Php 500.00 at the cashier for "Plagiarism Check Fee - RPC".

After the oral defense, a copy of the minutes will be sent to you via email within 5 days. Then, do the following steps:
Update your document based on the minutes and comments found in the documents.
Submit the revised document to the Research Adviser (RA) for review. If all is okay, RA will sign the minutes.
Present your prototype/sample design to RA for review. If all is okay, RA will sign the prototype/design checklist.
If during the outline defense you received an evaluation rating of "Accepted" or "Accepted with Minor Revision", skip Step 4.
Submit your revised paper with the minutes to your panelists. If all requirements are all met, panel members will sign the minutes (revision log) and/or will provide their title/outline defense evaluation scores.
If the 3 panelists gave their respective evaluation scores, submit the revised document for Grammarly checking to RA. Then, RA will generate the Grammarly Report (must be >=95%) and the Grammarly edited document.

Go back to your oral defense panel members and submit the following:
Thesis 1 and Capstone Project 1 - Validator’s Checklist and Criteria Form (1 per validator/panelist)
Minutes of the oral defense with RA's and panel members' signatures (if evaluation rating is "Accepted with Major Revision"
Revised research document
Turnitin result (similarity index must be 15% or below, print 1st page only w/ % rating)
Prototype or Design Checklist (signed by RA)
Copy of research document during the defense with panelist's comments (optional)
Thesis 1 and Capstone Project 1 - Title/Outline Defense Evaluation form with score (optional)
If all is okay, the panelist will grade and sign the Thesis 1 and Capstone 1 -Validator’s Checklist and Criteria Form.
If the 3 panelists gave their validator's scores, compile the following documents (using A4 Folder with Clear/Plastic Front Cover and Fastener).
Then, submit the compilation to your RC the following for grading or processing of your N.G*.
Then, submit to RC the following for grading or processing of NG:
Photocopy of Thesis 1 and Capstone Project 1 - Title/Outline Defense Evaluation form (of the 3 panel members with score and signature)
Photocopy of Thesis 1 and Capstone Project 1 - Validator’s Checklist and Criteria Form (of the 3 panel members with score and signature)
Update your research compilation folder with the following original copies of (1-7):
Minutes of the outline defense (complied, w/ RA’s signature)

If you RECEIVED an evaluation score during the final defense, submit the following to your panelist:

If all is okay, the panelist signs the minutes.
If the 3 panelists gave their evaluation scores, submit to RA the revised document for Grammarly checking. RA will generate the Grammarly Report (must be >=95%) and the Grammarly edited document.

Public Presentation/Defense
To be listed as a presenter at the CCE Research Forum, submit your minutes of the final defense (with RA and 3 panelists' signatures) - this will indicate that your paper is ready/approved for public presentation.
Request @cceresearchcenter to upload an Android or iOS app to Google Playstore or Apple Store.
1st Round of Checking
Download the Thesis and Capstone Project 2 - Pre/Validation/Post Checklist Form (v.1).
Submit the following to the RC for checking:
official receipt of Research Fee (Php 2,700 or Php 900 per member)
minutes of the final defense (with RA and 3 panelists' signatures)
manuscript in printed form (excluding Thesis and Capstone Project 2 - Validator's Checklist and Criteria Form )
1 DVD (rewritable) - full manuscript and source code/final copy of application/software/multimedia system
must have already completed the public presentation
If all is okay, RC endorses the research group for the validator's checking.
Go back to your oral defense panel members or panelists and submit the following:
Thesis and Capstone Project 2 - Validator's Checklist and Criteria Form (1 form per validator/panelist)
Minutes of the final defense (with RA and 3 panelists' signatures)
manuscript (printed form; not in hardbound form)
DVD
2nd Round of Checking
If the 3 panelists gave their validator's scores, submit the complete manuscript (in printed form) to the RC for checking before final printing and bookbinding.
If all is okay, RC gives the signal for final printing and bookbinding.
Submission of Hardbound Thesis and Capstone Project
To process your course grade or N.G., submit the following to the RC:
2 hardbound copies of your thesis or capstone project
2 DVD, which includes the full manuscript in DOCX and PDF format and the raw source files/source codes/assets and the application/software/multimedia system.
completed checklist form
compilation of forms and documents
activity notebook/journal
copyright application form
completed prior art search activity/patent application (if applicable)
application/software/multimedia systems already uploaded to Google Playstore / Apple Store / webhosted / YouTube.
RC will forward your documents to your respective subject teacher for grading or N.G. processing if all is okay.
