The College of Computing Education and its programs are inclined to create and develop technology-based outputs that would solve issues and provide information dissemination to all its target and identified clients. With this, the college was able to identify certain research areas that would serve as basis of their outputs for the next 5 years.
The following areas are as follows:
1. Technology and Information Management in Environment
For Information technology capstone projects: Focuses with applications that would solve environment related issues such as environment preservation and conservation, community and health, education and culture, and other related issues that would fall under the said area. It may also involve Internet of things (IoT) related projects, Geographic Information System, Decision Support Systems, and Networking.
For Computer Science thesis: Focuses with studies related to improving existing algorithms and its implementation to the given area. Such studies might involve image processing, visualizations, efficiency, rate of processing identified data sets, machine learning, natural language, data analytics and data mining, artificial intelligence, and geospatial analysis.
For EMC – Digital Animation Technology and Multimedia Arts capstone projects: Focuses with studies related to multimedia computing and the Environment. Such studies might involve creating animations, films, 2d and 3d Graphics, Cinematic Animations, and other outputs that is related to the given area. Studies may also involve information dissemination, if the given output might provide its uniqueness against existing multimedia outputs distributed online.
For EMC – Game Development capstone projects: Focuses with game development in relation to environment education, preservation, and conservation. Studies may also involve in developing games and simulators that would promote awareness on the environment and how to properly take care of it.
For Library and Information Science thesis: Focuses with studies related to library and information management with the different data and information needed for environmental education, preservation, and sustainability.
2. Technology and Information Management in Agriculture
For Information technology capstone projects: Focuses with applications that would solve agriculture related issues. Such studies might involve, weather forecasting and climate-smart agriculture, decision support systems for farmers, and IoT in agriculture.
For EMC – Digital Animation Technology and Multimedia Arts capstone projects: Focuses with studies related to multimedia computing and Agriculture. Such studies might involve creating animations, films, 2d and 3d Graphics, Cinematic Animation, Simulators, and other outputs that is related to the given area. Studies may also involve information dissemination, if the given output might provide its uniqueness against existing multimedia outputs distributed online.
For EMC – Game Development capstone projects: Focuses with game development in relation to agriculture. Studies may also involve in developing games and simulators that would promote awareness on the different areas of agriculture, such as livestock production, crop production, and agricultural economics and engineering.
3. Technology and Information Management in Disaster Management
For Information technology capstone projects: Focuses with applications that would solve disaster related issues, and other related issues that would fall under the said area. It may also involve Internet of things (IoT) related projects and networking.
