Michael Spath is a client executive for Kapnick Insurance Group, working with small businesses and startups to offer counsel and strategies on navigating the necessary but often confusing world of business insurance.
After running his own advertising agency for five years, Michael admittedly “didn’t know the first thing about insurance for a small business, particularly, one that didn’t have a brick-and-mortar presence” and has made it his highest priority to offer free education to entrepreneurs and small business owners so they can have peace of mind knowing the passion, hard work and resources they devote to making their business a success will be safeguarded.
In conjunction with Startup Nation radio, Michael co-hosts an “Ask the Expert” insurance podcast. You can also hear him during weekly radio appearances with WTKA in Ann Arbor and WJR in Detroit (though to talk sports, not insurance).
Michael spent 15 years in sports media prior to his career transition, including five years as the owner and host of “Inside the Huddle” sports talk radio in Ann Arbor and 10 years as the managing editor for TheWolverine.com. He taught “The History of College Athletics” for four semesters, beginning in the fall of 2020, at the University of Michigan School of Education.
