 Theme Year Logo Design Competition Winner

In May 2024, UMSI announced a Theme Year logo design competition for the 2024-25 academic year theme, Future of Work. Students were charged with creating a captivating and unique graphical asset that captured the Future of Work theme. This gave students the opportunity to leverage design skills and leave a lasting impact on UMSI. The logo design competition winner was Pedro Pazmino, a current MSI student. 

 U-M students compete to shape Michigan's innovation economy

As part of its 2024-25 Future of Work theme year, UMSI hosted a Case Study Competition inviting U-M students to propose solutions for Michigan’s innovation economy. Inspired by a keynote from Michigan’s chief innovation ecosystem officer Ben Marchionna, teams addressed challenges like talent retention and “brain drain” while highlighting the state’s advantages. Team Future won first place and $2,500 for their Michigan Startup Association proposal, supporting entrepreneurship across the state. Other standout ideas included the Pure Michigan PATHWAYS Initiative and a centralized app for entrepreneurs, with judges praising the creativity and professional confidence of all participants.
