Dr. Cynthia Ewell Foster is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan. She directs the Suicide Prevention Research in the Community Lab, co directs the Youth and Young Adult Depression and Suicide Prevention Program.
Christina Magness is the Lab Manager of the Suicide Prevention Research in the Community Lab and the project manager for YST-Detroit. She is a licensed clinical social worker with over a decade of project management experience. She has a particular interest in suicide risk assessment and care management, firearm injury prevention, cultural tailoring, and community-based participatory research.
Courtney Funk is a Project Manager who oversees the TYSP program at UM. She has a masters in public health with research interests around youth suicide and firearm injury prevention, public health approaches to suicide prevention, program evaluation and implementation science.
Lauren Majlinger is a Clinical Research Coordinator who oversees the Store Safely study. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Michigan and has research interests around firearm injury prevention and community-based participatory research.
Siwei Cao is a statistician by training and serves as the data manager and analyst for Store Safely and YST. She has an MS in Biostatistics and has particular research interests in firearm injury prevention.
Mike Henson-Garcia is a T32 post-doctoral fellow at UM's Institute for Firearm Injury Prevention. Mike earned his Ph.D. at UTHealth, with a background in health communication and implementation science. Mike collaborates on Store Safely and a number of other SPRCL projects.
Mai Tran is a post-baccalaureate Clinical Research Assistant in SPRCL. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. Mai splits her time between the YST Detroit and TYSP projects.
Ryan Gilbert is a post-baccalaureate Clinical Research Assistant in SPRCL. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Psychology. Ryan supports data collection for the Store Safely study.
Jordyn Oppenheim
Jordyn is an undergraduate Research Assistant in SPRCL. She is currently a junior at University of Michigan majoring in Psychology. Her research interests include youth suicide prevention and and the implementation of suicide prevention at critical care points.
