This project explores the language practices of Cabo Verdeans in New England. Many people have noticed a sort of new language evolve in the the Cabo Verdean community in the United States: "Creole-English" or "Kringlish". Speakers are combining Kriolu and English to create new words and phrases like good loka meaning 'good luck,' gabedja meaning 'garbage' and fandatu meaning 'find out'. This project documents and celebrates the many linguistic innovations of Cabo Verdean Americans.
