Katie Ellis had a successful poster presentation winning a poster award at the annual CDI meeting.
We have an exciting year so far with Gabby Huizinga having her first paper accepted in Journal of Immunology after a wonderful GRC meeting.
Nicole Baker joined our team helping us with our new studies.
We welcomed summer students Janie and Lucy along with our new Post-doc Katie Ellis to join our lab!
Finally coordinated a fall lab retreat. Excited for the planning we accomplished for the year!
Summer student Mikayla Borador had a great presentation for the M-SURF program.
We enjoyed a wonderful graduation celebration for all of our undergraduate students graduating this year - Aayush Unadkat, Katie Kim, Mariam Tobia, Nadir Al-Saidi (who completed his honors thesis), and Mckenzie Ely who will be joining the Singer Lab.
Congratulations to Gabby Huizinga now Gabby Entrup :) Gabby also was awarded the Miller award from Immunology and enjoyed a featured presentation at the CDI meeting.

The new year has been exciting but has brought us lots of change with Dr. Mita Varghese finishing her post-doctoral studies in our lab and Dr. Ramkumar joining our group.

We finally were able to celebrate! We are so grateful for the successful lab move and congratulations to our graduating senior undergraduates Jeremy and Ravi! Also, congrats to Gabby Huizinga for successfully passing prelims!
Finally our lab has moved to be part of the CDI research groups at NCRC! Although it was lots of work we were grateful to everyone for pitching in! While we have enjoyed our virtual lab meetings its nice to finally get to meet in person in lab.
Congratulations Gabby on your first paper! We were also fortunate to have this linked to an important NYT article highlighting the importance of untangling the role of obesity in COVID-19 outcomes.

Well it certainly hasn't been a normal semester with COVID-19 but the lab has continued to be successful!
Emily Bowers will be starting an American Heart Association Post-Doctoral Fellowship!
So excited that Gabby Huizinga will be joining our lab with a co-mentorship with Dr. Beth Moore!
Congrats to Layla Hak and Taryn Hayes on graduating from University of Michigan both starting Masters programs at U of in the Fall!
Ayse Bulan has been accepted into Pediatric Endocrine fellowship and will be starting at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Finally, Dr. Singer's promotion to Associate Professor came through!
The Singer Lab continues its fun with rotating graduate students Dawit Mengistu and Gabby Huizinga this semester!
We have also been so lucky to have had Raquel Mesquita working with us this semester. Raquel will be returning to Brazil to continue her work and hopefully continue collaborations with us!
