Miguel A. Funes-Lora is Research Investigator in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan (UM), Ann Arbor, USA. He currently works in Biomedical Manufacturing and Design Lab at UM, led by Professor Albert Shih. In 2019, he worked as a Research assistant and Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. He received his Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering at Instituto Politecnico Nacional (IPN) in 2018 and B.Eng. and M.E. in Robotics and Manufacturing from IPN, Mexico in 2009 and 2011.
Research Interests and Highlights:
Industrial Robot Applications - Path planning of Industrial Robot arms, 3D-printing applications with Industrial Robots, and Medical robot applications .
Biomedical Manufacturing – Medical Imaging process, Vascular access, Ultrasound processing data, Tissue mimicking, and Medical device designs.
