About

I am a lecturer IV in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures. I started teaching French at the University of Michigan as an exchange lecturer from Paris, France, in 1996. I applied to stay in the Department and became faculty in 2000.

I coordinated French 101, 102 and 103 from 2002-2006. I directed the SLI and term III in the ELP in 2001, 2005, 2015-2017.

I am interested in finding new ways of teaching by incorporating new technologies in the classroom to enhance students' learning experiences. How can we, as educators, better approach language instruction to become more inclusive and more responsive to the social media trends?

Communicative teaching approaches; cross-cultural comparisons; French history; French society, current events and social issues; arts (cinema, music, painting, photography, bande dessinée); medical practices in France; and content-based learning are other fields and topics I am exploring to develop engaging and motivating classes.
