All Students: I strongly recommend the book Graduate Admissions Essays by Donald Asher.
I frequently work with Master's and PhD students with shared interests, please reach out to me after admissions to explore current opportunities.
PhD Students: I suggest the book Getting What you Came For by Robert Peters for excellent advice for navigating a PhD from admissions to graduation. Specific to PhD students, I primarily work with PhD students enrolled in the PhD in Urban and Regional Planning program. I am not accepting any new PhD students in 2025-2026. I also occasionally work with PhD students in other programs as a committee member, or at other Universities as an external examiner.
