The central idea of RELATE is to understand how teacher training and curricular resources can create relevant and compelling curricula in order to improve the support that students from non-dominant groups receive in schools. To do so, we focus on three main objectives:
Learn how STEM teachers in Utqiaġvik use community resources in their classrooms
Collaborate with STEM teachers to design culturally relevant classroom activities
Support STEM teachers in using classroom activities through a learning community
