Providers Share Workshop Small Grant Opportunity
We are excited to announce the 2019 Providers Share Workshop Small Grant Program! Thanks to the support of a generous donor, our University of Michigan-based team is able to support 4 small grants of up to $11,000 USD each, to implement Providers Share Workshop.
Providers Share Workshop is a stigma and human resource intervention designed to offer abortion care providers an opportunity to explore the unique burdens and rewards of doing their work. Workshops are led by a trained facilitator, and involve five 60-to-90 minute sessions, generally run over the course of a two-day retreat. Workshops use story-telling and arts-based methodologies such as photography and collage work.
We are seeking applications to:
Funding:
Four grants of up to $11,000 each will be available. This typically covers the costs of running one workshop with a trained facilitator. Funds may be used to support the direct costs of running the Providers Share Workshop, including stipends and travel costs for facilitators, local travel costs for participants, venue and hosting/food costs. Funds cannot be used to support project staff time or effort. Costs beyond $11,000 will need to be covered by your organization. Financial structures at University of Michigan prevent us from delivering funds to organizations as a lump sum up front. Instead, your organizations will be reimbursed for expenses upon submitting invoices.
Proposed Timeline:
Funding decisions will be announced on May 31st, 2019 and recipient organizations will have between August 1st, 2019 and July 31st, 2020 to complete their work.
