Jane Hassinger, LCSW, DCSW, is co-founder of the Providers Share Program and the Director of Training and Education for the Providers Share Global Workgroup at the University of Michigan. She has conducted Providers Share workshops (PSW) and trained facilitators throughout the US, Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Jane was on the University of Michigan faculty in Women's Studies, Psychology, and Social Work for 25 years, where she taught courses and conducted research on women’s health, gender-based violence, trauma, gender and work. Jane is also a Psychotherapist/Psychoanalyst in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she has consulted with organizations and academic groups on issues related to gender inequality and diversity. With fellow co-founders Lisa H. Harris, MD, PhD and Lisa Martin, PhD, she has co-authored numerous journal articles and presented widely on abortion stigma and the impacts of the Providers Share Workshops in the lives of providers around the world. She is also co-author of Women on Purpose: Resilience and Creativity of the Founding Women of Phumani Paper, Desklink Publications, Johannesburg 2012.

Lisa H. Harris, MD, PhD, has led the Providers Share Workgroup as Principal Investigator since its inception in 2007, and oversees all aspects of the project including program implementation, research and evaluation and sustainability. She is the F. Wallace and Janet Jeffries Collegiate Professor of Reproductive Health, and Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Department of Women's Studies at University of Michigan. She also directs University of Michigan's Fellowship in Family Planning. She attended college and medical school at Harvard University, and completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of California, San Francisco. Because so many issues in women's reproductive health have to do as much with culture and politics as with biomedical sciences, she went on to earn a PhD in American Culture at University of Michigan. She is now an active clinician, teacher and researcher. Her clinical work focuses on family planning.

Lisa A. Martin, Ph.D. has been a part of the Providers Share team since its inception, serving as the point person for quantitative analysis and scale development. She has been instrumental in the development of several survey tools, including the Abortion Provider Stigma Scale and the Attitudes About Abortion Providers Scales.

She is an Associate Professor at University of Michigan Dearborn where she currently serves as Director of the Women’s and Gender Studies Program and holds a joint appointment in Health Policy Studies. She earned her doctorate in Public Health from the Health Behavior & Health Education Department at the University of Michigan. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Gender & Cultural Studies from Simmons College.


Meghan Seewald, M.A. is a research specialist in University of Michigan's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She joined the Providers Share research team in 2014, and currently manages the evaluation of the Providers Share Workshop project in the U.S., Latin America and East Africa, in addition to a number of other research projects.

She has several years experience in project management and mixed methods research, and holds a Master's degree in Sociology from DePaul University. She previously worked as a counselor and administrator at abortion clinics in Chicago and the Metro Detroit area.

Celina Doria, MSW is a program coordinator in University of Michigan's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She joined the Providers Share research team in 2018, and helps with project implementation in the U.S., Latin America and East Africa.

Celina has experience with qualitative research methods and social work practice with survivors of trauma. She is passionate about utilizing culturally-grounded and healing-centered research and practice methods to promote the well-being of marginalized communities. She received her Master's of Social Work from the University of Michigan.
