Steven L. Cederquist is a doctoral candidate at the University of Michigan's School of Information co-advised by Profs. Barry Fishman and Stephanie Teasley. He conducts design-based research in higher education.

His current work examines how college admissions officers make holistic admissions decisions using information on informal learning. More broadly, Steven is interested in the relationship between education, employment, and identity.

He received his Master of Arts from the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education and Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University. He served as a community and education volunteer with the United States Peace Corps in Vlore, Albania from 2012 to 2015.
