Spatio-Temporal System Models for Control

Signals often represent a temporal trajectory of a variable at a single point in space, for example the temperature at the sensor of a thermostat. Traditionally, control systems have been used to stabilize signals; however, many systems involve spatial distributions that change over time. Thes systems can involve light, temperature, or even the distribution of physical material as in additive manufacturing. We seek models and controllers to stabilize and control spatio-temporal systems.
