OSUM Wins Elaine Harden Award from College of Engineering
On March 15, OSUM was honored to be selected for the 2020 Elaine Harden Award. This award is presented to the Engineering student organization that best exemplifies dedicated leadership and service to the community. This would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of all our officers and the continually support of our advisor John Nees. The Optics & Photonics Industry Spotlight event is designed to be more than just a career fair. The goal of the event is to raise awareness of the field of optics and photonics and highlight opportunities in this industry. Optics-related companies from all over the state of Michigan are invited to host an informational table and give short overview of their company to the attendees. There will also be a keynote presentation that highlights what it is like to have a career in industry and the role that optics has played in technological development - past, present, and future.

We are hosting a focus group to experiment with the deconstruction of the recycled electronics and to assist in coming up with reassembly project ideas. All of the recycled products, tools, and dinner for the evening will be provided. The details of the event can be found be below. You don't have to be there the whole time, feel free come by when you can. If you plan on attending the focus group, or if you are interested in volunteering when we bring the project to pre-college students, please fill out the RSVP form.
