Office of the Dean of Students
The Office of the Dean of Students is a safe environment where students may go for assistance in resolving conflicts, disputes, or complaints on an informal basis. Academic Advising
Academic Advising at UM-Flint is based on a shared model that involves professional and faculty advisors. Depending on your major and your class standing, you will be advised at the Student Success Center and/or at your department. You should meet with your advisor(s) as often as you need to, at least once per semester and whenever anything changes in your plans.

Writing Center
The Writing Center assists in making better writers and better products. You can come in for assistance with papers for any subject and at any stage of writing: getting started, fine tuning topics, developing ideas or revising, finishing papers, and working on MLA & APA formats as well as other citation styles. What do you want to work on?
Tutoring
Individual, one-on-one tutoring appointments are available for many 100- and 200-level courses, as well as for selected upper level classes.
Counseling and Psychological Services
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides services to enrolled students that help to maximize their academic and personal potential. CAPS offers therapy, free screenings, referrals to outside agencies, and crisis services to enrolled UM-Flint students. Students are encouraged to talk to counselors about their mental health concerns, relationship issues, family conflict, stress management, adjustment issues, and more. CAPS counselors are on call 24/7 to assist students with after-hour emergencies.

Disability and Accessibility Support Services
Disability and Accessibility Support Services (DASS) at the University of Michigan-Flint helps students gain equal access to their education. We provide support for any student with a Learning Disability, Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Mental Health Concerns, among others. The office also takes reports about issues with the campus facilities for those with accessibility concerns such as elevators, snow removal, and accessibility to their classes.

Student Veterans Resource Center
The mission of the Student Veterans Resource Center is to provide academic support to the veteran community. We assist the veteran community with their pursuit of academic and career goals, while offering services tailored to the unique experiences and needs of student veterans. Including, but not limited to, assisting with activating and utilizing your GI Bill® benefits.

Computer Labs
ITS supports numerous computer labs on the UM-Flint campus for both general and instructional use. All registered students, faculty and staff are allowed to use the open computing labs. A valid computer account including a uniqname and password are needed to be able to utilize a computer in any of the labs.
