Meet the Executive Board

Hey everyone! I'm Katelynn, a senior majoring in Psychology and Sociology with a concentration in Law, Justice, and Social Change. I fell in love with backpacking in high school as it was a great way to disconnect and push myself mentally. Outside of MBC, you can find me busy researching in my Psychology lab, enjoying the local music scene, or at Planet Rock!

Hey guys, I'm Lorelei! I am a junior in LSA studying Data Science. I had never been backpacking before my first trip with MBC freshman year, and I've been out on the trails ever since! I love exploring the outdoors, and if you ever need a Nichols Arboretum tour guide, I'm there!

Hiya! I'm Ella and I am beginning my senior year studying Biology, Health, and Society with a minour in the Environment. MBC was my first backpacking experience, and boy did we have a crazy go. Regardless of our troubles, I have fallen even more deeply in love with backpacking and being fully immersed in nature. I plan to bring my adventure cat, Ophelia, with me on trips this year!

Hi guys! I'm Claire, a senior studying nursing.  I love backpacking for the gorgeous sights and I enjoy pushing my body to new limits! My favorite backpacking memory is from when I slept at the bottom of the Grand Canyon (there's lemonade BTW).  Besides MBC, I am involved in the Student Nurse's Association and do photography for other clubs! I loooove Michigan football, reading, swimming, and I crochet.

Hi! I'm Nate, a senior studying Opera Performance and Neuroscience, and I will be one of your trip coordinators this year! I fell in love with backpacking in high school, where I spent time as a student leader. I worked to prepare sophomores every year, helping them through their first backpacking trips. Outside of MBC, you can catch me at the school of music, either in the opera or chamber choir!

Hey everyone! I'm Gwyneth, a junior studying Communication and Media and sustainability. I'm so excited to be a trip coordinator this year! After spending a month backpacking through NOLS in the Wind River Range, I've been perpetually dreaming about where I'll backpack next, which led me to my lovely time in MBC--shout-out to my group for introducing me to spam and rice in Utah! In my free time, I love to swim (in Lake Michigan!), watch movies, do crafts, and grab coffee from Comet.

Hey guys! My name is Audrey, and I’m a senior studying nursing! I fell in love with backpacking after realizing how much it helps me reconnect with nature, unplug from daily life, and bring me together with people who love the outdoors just as much as I do. Outside of MBC, you can catch me scarfing down Chipotle, chomping on Hola Seoul, and grubbing at Cinnaholic.

Hey guys! I'm Anna, a sophomore majoring in Biochemistry. I love backpacking with my whole heart and am so grateful to have found this amazing club to be a part of! I've seen so many cool places, met even cooler people, and can't wait to see what this year will bring. Outside of MBC you can catch me frolicking on Central, lifting at the gym, or hanging with my friends!

Hey! My name is Henry, and I'm a sophomore double majoring in EEB and PITE. I love being outdoors and camping, kayaking, hiking, and climbing. I'm super grateful MBC has allowed me to be able to spend time outdoors, see new places, and meet awesome people while living in a city. Outside of MBC I enjoy hanging out with friends, poker, and late night runs. 

Hey everyone! I'm Gabe, a sophomore majoring in electrical engineering. I love being outdoors, and MBC has helped me do that while also introducing me to great people and new parts of the country. Outside of MBC, you can find me playing water polo, trail running, and climbing.

Hey guys! I am Adham, a senior studying Biomolecular Science. Growing up in Egypt, I have never been backpacking before my first trip with MBC, and I fell in love with it ever since! To me, conquering these trails has a peculiar way of making all other stresses of life disappear, and I cannot wait to share this feeling with you all! Outside of MBC, you can find me researching potential treatments for Diamond Blackfan Anemia, in STAMPS throwing pots, or attending a random MUSKET production!

Hi guys! I'm Katherine, a senior majoring in Neuroscience. I've always loved hiking and exploring the outdoors and I'm so excited to have found a group that loves it as much as I do! I especially love all the national parks out west and climbing all the rocks I can. Outside of MBC, I work as an EMT, love trying new coffee shops, and hanging out with my friends.

I’m so grateful to have joined Michigan Backpacking Club because it has introduced me to amazing friends, unforgettable adventures, and countless opportunities to learn and grow.
