Welcome to Michigan Backpacking Club!

MBC is the premier backpacking and hiking organization at the University of Michigan. We're committed to connecting students of all experience levels to the outdoors by organizing trips to various locations across the United States.

What do we do? We coordinate groups, offer gear rental, provide transportation, and hold instructional workshops as you plan your adventure for Fall & Spring Break trips.

Who can be in this club? Undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Michigan with all levels of backpacking experience (beginners, that means you, too!)

Trying not to break the bank? No dues required! The only fees we charge are for van + gear rental during trips... we do our best to keep your costs to a minimum!

Joining Solo? Don't sweat it - we put together diverse groups of 5-6 for our trips based on desired location & difficulty.
