I worked with a team of researchers and executive leadership at the University of Michigan to center survivor voices as we redesigned processes for repairing harm related to gender-based violence on campus. This work was part of the Coordinated Community Response Team (CCRT).
As a social science researcher brought onto the project, my task was to attend and synthesize data from listening sessions that gathered information, perspectives, and stories from complex stakeholders across the university community, including educators, staff, survivors, students, and more.
This data collection culminated in a 42 page recommendation booklet outlining actionable steps and priority items for executive leadership to implement to address sexual misconduct on campus. These actionable insights included the creation of a restorative justice center, a center for survivor support, and an undergraduate pilot course on sexual citizenship, as well as numerous other investments in prevention across campus.
