2025-2026
Project H.A.D.E.S. (High Altitude Demonstration for Electromechanical Systems) is a single stage 12.5ft rocket with a predicted apogee of 12,846 ft without airbrakes deployment.
HADES includes a new electro-mechanical vibration measurement payload. Our team decided to use a reefed parachute while sticking with airbrakes flaps from the previous year.
Airframe Length: 12.25ft
Airframe Diameter: 6"
Max Velocity: 702 mph
Max Acceleration: 8.7 G
Rocket Motor: Aerotech N3300
Total Mass: 89 lbs and 12 oz
HADES was unable to launch at the International Rocket Engineering Competition in 2026 due to weather. However, it is worth noting that that the rocket was operational with working cameras and airbrakes. Project HADES was on the launch rail before the launch site closed. Our team successfully launched HADES in Michigan on the 24th of October, 2026. Follow us on Instagram for more updates about HADES launch.
