The Leadership Crisis Challenge is on Friday, January 31. Breakfast will begin at Michigan Stadium at 7:30 AM, and the Board of Directors training starts at 8:00 AM. This training will provide you with some key information about your role as well as what to expect throughout the day. We will set aside some time to answer any questions that you have before your first student presentation..
From there, you will head into your boardroom and hear student presentations starting at 9:00 AM. There will be a number of teams presenting throughout the morning and early afternoon. The format will be the same for each team: they will deliver a 5-minute presentation outlining their crisis management response. This will be followed by a 15-minute Q&A session from the board of directors. The team will then receive some feedback from their communication coach, and finally some additional feedback from their board. After all of the teams have presented, each board member will hand in their scoresheet to their boardroom's Room Manager to be calculated. Based on the scores you provide, certain teams will move forward to the next round of the competition.
Please review the business case in advance.
It will also set up the students for success if you have had a chance to take a look at the training materials for your specific role. Be on the lookout for an email with more information.
Remember, students will not have access to case-specific information until Thursday, January 30 at 5:00 PM.
Students are being asked to wear business professional attire on Friday. We ask that you do the same in order to create a more immersive experience for the students.
The Crisis Challenge will be at the Jack Roth Stadium Club at Michigan Stadium (1201 S Main St., Ann Arbor). Please see the parking and transportation tab for more info.
Take a look at the professors involved with the Crisis Challenge and their areas of research. We strongly believe that there is a mutual benefit for businesses and researchers to connect. The nature of the relationship can vary, but typically a faculty member advances their research (e.g. through an employee survey) and in return, they share crucial data and insights that can enhance organizational performance and/or output.
Let us know if you are interested in partnering with faculty on research opportunities.
