December 2023: Max gave two invited technical seminars at TU Delft (hosted by the Air Transport and Operations group) and at the EUROCONTROL Innovation Hub in Brétigny, France.
November 2023: Max gave an invited talk at Tech Talk Tuesday, hosted by the FAA Office of NextGen (ANG).
October 2023: Haochen Wu and Max attended the 2023 INFORMS Annual Meeting, held in Phoenix, AZ. Haochen presented on his work with distributionally robust multi-airport ground holding problems (see the paper here). Max served as Cluster Chair, Aviation Applications Section (AAS) and as Session Chair, AAS Best PhD Dissertation and Best Paper Awards
September 2023: Our paper, "Drone delivery routing with stochastic urban wind" was presented at the 2023 IEEE 26th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC), held in Bilbao, Bizkaia, Spain, by Minghao Chen. This was joint work with Andrew W. Smyth, and Marco G. Giometto.
September 2023: Max co-organized the inaugural Michigan Initiative for Sustainable Aviation (MISA) Symposium, held in Ann Arbor, MI.
September 2023: Max and Haochen Wu attended and presented at the NASA/UC Berkeley Workshop on Clean Slate Approaches to Crewed and Uncrewed Air Traffic Operations, in Berkeley, CA.
August 2023: Max attended and presented at the RTX AI Assurance Workshop, to be held at the RTX Technologies Research Center in East Hartford, CT.
July 2023: Max attended the 2023 INFORMS Transportation Science and Logistics (TSL) Conference in Chicago, IL. Shriya presented "Estimating Airport Leakage with Connected and Automated Vehicle Adoption" (joint work with Shriya Karam, Megan S. Ryerson, and Amy M. Kim). Geoffrey presented "Customer Privacy in Vehicle Routing Problems" (joint work with Geoffrey Ding, Alex Berke, Christopher Chin, Karthik Gopalakrishnan, and Hamsa Balakrishnan).
June 2023: Chris An, Ben Chan, and Max attended the 2023 AIAA AVIATION Forum, held in San Diego, CA. Chris and Ben presented their peer-reviewed conference paper, "Environmental impacts of aircraft reroutes from long-term airspace closures." Joint work with Prof. Gökçin Çınar's group, "Operational analysis for hybrid electric aircraft fleets: A feasibility study for the short- and medium-haul markets," was presented by Paul Mokotoff, a graduate student in Prof. Çınar's group.
June 2023: Billy Mazotti, Hejun Huang, and Max attended the 15th FAA-EUROCONTROL Air Traffic Management Research and Development Seminar, held in Savannah, GA. Our paper, "Remote identification trajectory coverage for Urban Air Mobility applications," was accepted for presentation and publication after peer review. Check out our paper here!
May 2023: Max was an invited panelist on the panel "Assembling an Effective Application Package" for the University of Michigan NextProf Program.
May 2023: Max was a keynote speaker at the Purdue Next-Generation Transport Systems Conference (NGTS-3).
April 2023: Max was an invited participant at the NSF Workshop on Cyber-enabled Infrastructure to Support Carbon-neutral Electricity and Mobility, held at Texas A&M University.
April 2023: Max gave an invited guest lecture for AEROSP 200 (Introduction to the Aerospace Enterprise) at the University of Michigan.
March 2023: Max gave invited talks at ONERA-The French Aerospace Lab and at École Nationale de l'Aviation Civile (ENAC), in Toulouse, France.
March 2023: Shriya Karam and Max attended the 4th Symposium on Aviation Research (SoAR) in Toulouse, France. Our paper on Estimating Airport Leakage with Connected and Automated Vehicle Adoption was accepted after peer review for long-format presentation/discussion (joint work with Megan S. Ryerson and Amy M. Kim). Shriya presented this work.
March 2023: Max gave invited seminars at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Daejeon, South Korea and the Korea Transport Institute (KOTI) in Sejong, South Korea.
January 2023: Max attended the AIAA SciTech Forum in National Harbor, MD. He gave two presentations: Learning-Driven Airspace Congestion Pricing for Advanced Air Mobility (joint work with Ben Wang, Zilong Deng, Xian Ni, Kevin B. Smith, and Romesh Saigal) and jointly presented with Lesley A. Weitz on Aggregate Network Model with Resilience Considerations for Air Traffic Flow Management (joint work with Adam Frewin, Christine P. Taylor, and Lesley A. Weitz).
January 2023: Max was an invited participant at Building the Future of Aerial Mobility in Michigan, held at The Book Repository in Michigan Central, Detroit, MI.
January 2023: Max attended the Transportation Research Board 102nd Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.
January 2023: Max gave an invited talk at the Next Generation Transportation System (NGTS) Seminar, hosted by the University of Michigan Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

March 2022: Our work, "Timescales of delay propagation in airport networks," was accepted for publication in Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review. This was joint work with Yanjun Wang, Karthik Gopalakrishnan, and Tongdan Liu.
