Ben Chan

Ben is an undergraduate student studying Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. At LATTICE, he is working on quantifying the effects of the 2022 Russo-Ukrainian War on airline rerouting and subsequent environmental impacts. In Summer 2023, he also began work on a project focused on developing a fleet assignment model for hybrid-electric aircraft types. In addition to his work at LATTICE, he is also the Research, Sustainability, & Innovation Chair at the Wharton Undergraduate Aerospace Club, lead student organizer for the Wharton Aerospace Conference, and a teaching assistant for UPenn's "Big Data Analytics" and "Engineering Probability" courses. Previously, Ben also served as the Co-Director of the Penn Aerospace Club, and has conducted machine learning research with the National Cancer Institute and UPenn's Perelman School of Medicine.
