My engagement as a Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) for the Human Error and Complex System Failure (IOE 434) course led to a nomination for the Outstanding GSI award, which recognizes engineering GSIs who show innovation and excellence in teaching. I was selected as one of the top nominees from a pool of 90 and am now being considered for the award. The following section includes my student evaluation scores and selected comments from their written feedback.
"Jin was respectful, kind, and knowledgeable about the class material. The constructive feedback was incredibly helpful throughout the course."
"I really enjoyed how hands-on Jin was. He was more involved than most GSIs I've had."
"Jin is a really great GSI because he is very approachable and readily makes himself available for student questions."
"Jin went above and beyond the course material to provide advice on both curious questions and career paths."
"I knew what was expected at all times. I really liked the case study, which helped me see real-life situations where failures occur. Jin was very accessible for our presentation and report."
