Welcome to the Interpersonal Connections and Health (ICH) Lab at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, directed by Dr. Michelle Leonard.
Our team explores how interpersonal connections, particularly romantic relationships, shape psychological and physical health across the lifespan. We investigate topics such as emotional support, communication, empathy, coping with stress and illness, and the role of sociocultural factors in health behaviors. Through collaborative research, the ICH Lab aims to better understand how close relationships can serve as both risk and protective factors for well-being.
