Passionate about equity through education? Got any coding experience? Check out Seven Mile Coding and codeConnects! Both are incredible organizations that empower youth through Computer Science education and you can be a part of them! Seven Mile Coding (7MC) is a new initiative teaching youth in Detroit how to code. Teachers for 7MC pair up with a student from Detroit for weekly lessons exploring coding and computer science in fun ways. If interested, please use the application and question portals already available on their website. codeConnects is the online platform of The Coding School, a non-profit organization that teaches coding to underrepresented middle and high school students. FoolMoon is the nighttime kick-off event to Ann Arbor's foolish weekend! In the heart of downtown Ann Arbor, everyone and anyone is invited to gather in the streets to shake off those cold gray winters. The skyline will be filled with luminaries, interactive installations, laser shows, a beer tent sponsored by Grizzly Peak, DJ’s raised into the air, live dance performances, and oh so many more de-LIGHT-fool surprises!
Join Honors on March 30th at Vagina Monologues! The award-winning play is based on playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace, the piece celebrates women’s sexuality and strength. For more than twelve years, The Vagina Monologues has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public. Meet at the SQ CC at 7:30pm to walk over to Rackham Auditorium. This event is FREE.
Join us in scuba diving with Huron Scuba on Thursday, March 29th. We'll meet at the CC at 6:15PM and be back around 10PM. The buy-in is $10 and payable at the Honors office. Also, due to the fact that this is scuba diving and with that comes some important safety measures, know that if you want to participate you'll have to fill out a few forms like the one attached below and turn it in to Mika at the Honors Office.
