Dr. Etienne Sutton started this project as part of her PhD at the University of Michigan, under the mentorship of Dr. Jennifer Blesh. After finishing her PhD in summer 2024, she nows leads cover crop research efforts with the University of Missouri Center for Regenerative Agriculture, working remotely out of Ann Arbor, MI. She is excited to see the Great Lakes Cover Crops Project continue!
Dr. Jennifer Blesh is an Associate Professor at the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability, and is part of UM's Sustainable Food Systems Initiative. She leads the Soil & Agroecosystems Lab, where research focuses on understanding how diverse crop rotations and cover crops can build soil health and retain nutrients, and the use of legumes as a nitrogen source.
Dr. Julie Doll is the CEO of Michigan Agriculture Advancement, a non-profit dedicated to improving the economic, social, and environmental state of Michigan agriculture and beyond. Previously she worked at Michigan State University's Kellogg Biological Station as Associate Director for Stakeholder Engagement for the Long-Term Agroecosystem Research Program.
