Current Research

We run a range of ongoing influenza studies, including a long-term pediatric influenza cohort study and a family cohort study in Nicaragua. Our focus is on understanding the the transmission of influenza and examining factors that drive influenza susceptibility and development of immunity.

We have conducted research on respiratory syncytial virus, seasonal coronaviruses, and a range of other respiratory viruses.

In partnership with UC Berkeley we are involved in studies of dengue virus, Zika virus and chikungunya in Nicaragua.
