GirlsGetMath@Dearborn is a selective, 100% tuition-free summer mathematics program open to high school students in Southeast Michigan. This week-long camp invites students to dive into sophisticated, contemporary math topics often outside the standard high school curriculum.
In our non-competitive and affirming environment, students build confidence and connect with peers while experiencing:
Hands-on Learning: Explore exciting topics like cryptography, image processing, fractals, the math of voting, graph theory, and recommendation systems.
Daily Computer Labs: Bring math concepts to life by learning to code and experiment in guided labs.
Career Exploration: Meet professionals working in STEM fields during our exclusive career panel. Past panelists have included professionals showcasing diverse paths - ranging from education to industry leaders like General Motors, the National Security Agency, Ally Financial, Target, and MathWorks.
College Prep: Enjoy information sessions on college applications, admissions, and campus life, plus a tour of our beautiful UM-Dearborn campus.
Participants can arrive as early as 8:30 am and should leave by 4:00 pm.
100% Free: The program is completely tuition-free for all admitted participants.
Meals Provided: Free lunch is provided daily!
To apply, students must:
Be entering the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the upcoming academic year. (Rising 9th graders may be accepted based on prior math preparation and space availability).
The program is open to all students, regardless of gender.
Commit to attending the entire week-long program.
Note: Students who have attended a previous GirlsGetMath@Dearborn program are ineligible to ensure new students get the opportunity to participate.
