Applications For Image Sonification

Image sonification is the process of converting non-time varying data in images into a time-varying form. Our team decided to explore this under-research topic to better understand the different methods in which images can undergo audio-based sonification. Our secondary objective is to see if there is some musical application that can be made of the time-varying data from the images. On the right are just a few examples of images we have tested our sonification algorithm with.
