Football clubs, Real Madrid included, are businesses, and like businesses, their fundamental objective is making profit. Profit can be separated into revenues and expenses. The hierarchy suggests that expenses for football clubs are no different to any other business. Revenues tell a different story.
Real Madrid makes money by selling tickets, selling merchandise, or through sporting revenue. The latter includes revenues from TV rights and sponsorship deals, and mostly comprises revenue the club realizes from competing. In other words, it is money awarded to Real Madrid by the Spanish and European federations for winning titles.
Thankfully, as established, Real Madrid are more than adept at acquiring trophies, requiring no assistance in that regard. With that in mind, this project focuses on maximizing the remaining revenue streams highlighted in red in the hierarchy.
