The University Record published a statement saying that the University of Michigan will be implementing free period products in 670 main-floor restrooms - including residency halls - in 245 buildings,
The project at the University of Michigan is set to expand to over 2,000 restrooms on campus. The University Record reports that "full implementation will depend on product availability as well as logistical considerations.”
The Michigan Daily released an article about the lack of period products in the residency halls at the University of Michigan. They describe how, in an email from Heather Guenther, Director of Communications for the U-M Division of Student Life, she describes that the menstrual product program is supposed to be a temporary, not permanent solution for students. Further, she describes how there are no current plans to expand the program.
