May-June 2024: Pilot
Four Foundations faculty members piloted this assignment in their summer courses: Patrick Beauchesne, Shelly Jarenski, Anna Mueller, and Nadja Rottner. We will be assessing how the assignment works and what pedagogical strategies work best with it during this time. This pilot group has an accepted IRB to write and present more broadly on this work as part of a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) project. Future SoTL initiatives are also being explored.
July 2024: Rollout
Starting in July 2024, we will hold workshops for Foundations faculty where they can hear from the pilot group, learn more about the assignment, ask questions, and begin to design their versions of Curate and SIFT.
August 2024: Design
As you design your Fall and Winter Foundations courses, you will be finding ways to incorporate Curate and SIFT into your courses. During this time (well, all the time, but during this time especially) the pilot group, the Hub, and the library, will be available to help you with any questions or challenges you encounter.
Fall and Winter 2024: Implementation
You will be teaching Curate and SIFT in your courses.
Winter 2024: Report
We will gather together again in a workshop to share how Curate and SIFT is working and report out about our experiences, as we continue to use this common assignment in Foundations in the future.
