Discerning Truth in an AI-Influenced World
Discerning truth from falsehood is a paramount skill for every learner, especially in the age of generative AI.
At the University of Michigan-Dearborn, we are proud to introduce the Curate and SIFT common assignment initiative—inspired by our 2024 common read Verified by Mike Caulfield and Sam Wineburg.
The common assignment is being piloted over the summer by a small group of faculty who plan to research their teaching practice and share their findings as a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) project.
There are also plans for Foundations faculty to adopt the assignment, events to share out experiences, and more.
