Child passenger safety laws vary in every state. UMTRI researchers have performed a comprehensive review of child passenger safety and seatbelt laws from 2002 and later and developed a method to code the strength of the law for each age of child under age 13 (Klinich et al. 2016). The scores presented in the paper will be updated periodically here on this website.
