This unit will focus on developing skills in simple circuit design and paper circuit creation. Lessons are divided based on skill level: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
In this first lesson, participants will learn the basics of constructing a circuit. The activity will help them develop an understanding of key terminology and how to construct a circuit. We also want to teach participants the importance of trial and error -- the goal isn't to get things right on the first try, it's to learn how to creatively problem solve!
In this lesson participants will get a refresher on simple circuits and learn about series circuits and parallel circuits. They will develop a foundational understanding of : simple circuits, series circuits, and parallel circuits. The final product of this activity will allow participants to combine these skills with a ton of creativity. They will design an expressive electronic in the form of a masquerade mask!
In this lesson participants will develop their skills in creating expressive electronics. Here, they will learn about combining their circuitry knowledge from previous lessons with the new concept of paper switches. The final product will be an LED paper lantern designed with a functional circuit and switch!
