Check out the Agenda below for each day to stay informed about the time and subject of our sessions.
Sessions are designed to take place at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. over the course of 3 days. The agenda will give you more information about what to expect in the session, as well as what may be needed beforehand.
Note: We will provide a linen package (fitted sheet, top sheet, pillowcases, 2 bath towels, and a washcloth), along with pillows and a knit blanket. You're welcome to bring your bedding and/or towels if you prefer.
What not to pack? Check out Michigan Housing for details.
As a Conference Group scheduled to reside in MHousing at the University of Michigan, as of February 20, 2023, the University has updated its public health requirements and vaccination for COVID-19 is no longer required for non-students residing in MHousing. The University will not be enforcing the vaccination requirement stated in your contract under the Public Health Policies section.
Conference Group staff and participants who become ill are recommended to isolate, however, the guest may not remain in MHousing. Participants must vacate MHousing within 24 hours and complete their isolation off-campus.
As part of the June 9th module "Discover your Strengths" module, you must take an online StrengthsQuest assessment. Find your access code on our Access Code Instruction Sheet next to your name. Please redeem and take your Clifton Strengths assessment before viewing the session.
The assessment takes about 20 minutes and will generate a report of your top 5 strengths. Please review or bring your report to the CCSI Strengths Session for reflection and discussion. This session will help you understand and confidently communicate your strengths to employers.
Once you're done, upload your StrengthsFinder results to our CCSI Result Grid which is in the same sheet as the instructions.
What is Canvas?
Canvas is a Learning Management System that the University of Michigan uses to conduct coursework. Much like other platforms (Blackboard, D2L, Moodle, and more), Canvas is designed to host online quizzes, lecture modules, and grades.
Why use Canvas?
As a CCSI participant, we want you to experience life as a University of Michigan student. Using Canvas helps immerse you in the student experience and gives you a feel for academic life before transferring.
How do I navigate Canvas?
Use the Canvas Student Guide for more information. You’ll log in with your uniqname, which will be provided after you complete the pre-participant survey.
MUMSI is adding some fun with acorns that you can collect and exchange for prizes! Even if you’re not a virtual squirrel, you’ll want to join in on this.
How to Earn Acrons:
Attending sessions - 10 acorns/hour
Complete check-ins & daily surveys - 5 acorns
1:1 meetings with PAs - 10 acorns
Attend social activities - 10 acorns
And more!
As the week goes on, we’ll track your team’s total acorns. As you move up levels, you’ll earn more prizes!
Check out our Leaderboard to keep track of your team's points and to learn more about the prizes.
It's important to carry your MCard everywhere you go because it serves as the official ID for all University of Michigan members and allows access to buildings that require an MCard. The room card key is also super important to carry with you, as it is specific to residents of University Housing and provides access to your rooms.
Check this site for more information on what to do if you’ve lost your room key card or are locked out of your room. Make sure also to communicate this matter to a CCSI staff member.
Connecting with your CCSI Classmates
One of CCSI’s main goals is to foster connection and learning. You’ll be placed into one of four teams, which will carry through modules and team-building activities. This is a great opportunity to bond with your cohort!
Team point totals will be updated daily on our page. You’ll find out your team assignment on the first day of CCSI.
Only team totals will be displayed, but you're encouraged to collaborate and compete for first place!
At CCSI, we want to support you in your future endeavors, whether at UMSI or not. Joining our new LinkedIn Group will ensure that you have a place to connect with all past CCSI participants and program assistants.
At check-in, you'll receive:
Your room assignment (if applicable)
A welcome packet with the schedule, activity info, and resources
You’ll also sign one waiver: U-M Liability Waiver
