About Me

Background

I grew up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and moved to the United States in 2009. I attended Emma Willard high school in Troy, NY, before returning to Ann Arbor to attend the University of Michigan. In May 2019, I graduated with B.S. degrees in Astronomy and Physics.

Between May 2019 and August 2020, I worked with Prof. Jon Miller at the University of Michigan, mostly doing analysis with Swift data. This time doing research gave me valuable research skills and solidified my desire to pursue a graduate degree.  In my first two years as a graduate student, I conducted spectral and timing analyses of black holes with data from Swift, Chandra, NICER, and XMM-Newton.

Currently, I work with Dr. Lia Corrales on understanding the accretion flow of Sagittarius A* and how it interacts with nearby plasma components, shining light on the history of our galactic center.

I'm passionate about department service and outreach involving young future scientists. When I'm not working, you can likely find me doing puzzles, baking, or making colourful pasta.
