BigTheory

The project has two general objectives:

A principled statistical and algorithmic framework will be raised for large-scale datasets, by scrutinizing the theoretical implications of working with large-sized observations on a data-complexity basis, and progressively considering univariate and heterogeneous data structures, mixed-nature multivariate data models, and for classical and readapted machine learning algorithms.
The specific theoretical aspect to be targeted in this framework is highlighted from the analysis of a set of practical applications, each of them supported by scientific experts in those fields. Whereas the focus of the project is on healthcare-related key areas, attention is devoted to tourism as a high-impact productivity environment in our country.

This objective is the result of previous and ongoing research from the team members in different organizations, and it aims to give a principled and strongly competitive approach to these efforts.
