If you are interested in joining the lab for Fall 2025, please fill out the online application and email any questions to npearl@umd.edu.
If you are interested in applying to work with Dr. Killen in the graduate program, please email Dr. Killen at mkillen@umd.edu. Please email Jessia Chew, the Assistant Director of Academic Affairs, at jmoats@umd.edu, to request a graduate handbook and information about the application process. Our graduate program has a mentorship model, and graduate students study as apprentices with specific faculty members. Therefore, it’s important to contact faculty members directly about a match of interests between the applicant and the potential faculty mentor. Dr. Killen is in the Developmental Science area of specialization in the graduate program.
We have a Visiting Scholar’s office available for visiting faculty and scholars for brief or extended visits. We supply access to a computer, library privileges, and university resources. We are located 25 minutes from Washington, D.C. , NIH, NSF, and many universities and institutions in the Washington/Baltimore area (George Washington, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, and UMBC).
