Global Internship+: Thailand is an immersive international internship program that combines academic coursework with a six-week professional internship in Bangkok, Thailand. Designed for students from all majors, the program allows participants to develop global career competencies while living and working in one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic cities.
Students begin the experience by completing HGLO295: Cross-Cultural Communication in the Global Workplace (2 credits). This course prepares students to navigate intercultural communication, professional expectations, and workplace dynamics across cultures. During the internship abroad, students earn an additional 4 credits through HGLO395: The Global Workplace: Internship+ Experience, which integrates their professional work experience with structured reflection, on-site mentoring, and guided discussions.
Internship placements are tailored to students' academic interests and career goals and may include fields such as business, marketing, engineering, sustainability, education, communications, hospitality, technology, nonprofit organizations, and entrepreneurship.
In addition to their internships, students will participate in cultural excursions, professional development workshops, and community-building activities designed to deepen their understanding of Thai culture and the global workplace.
