Biography & Personal Statement:
Damaya Wilson is a sophomore from Hyattsville, MD studying Architecture and Real Estate and The Built Environment at the University of Maryland. Her interests include drawing, painting, building 3-D models, cooking, dancing, and exploring new sites and cities. In her art, she often expresses difficult challenges that one may come across, and eventually creating it to express an upcoming. As she explores, she comes with inspiration and applies it on a canvas.
As a College Park Arts Scholar, Damaya intends to explore her research interests through the Capstone project to be completed at the end of her sophomore year. She is excited to take full advantage of the opportunity to continue learning about the large amount of forms of art and the careers that follow. Additionally, she also is excited to tackle the social issues that are prevalent in the world through various mediums of art. She also looks forward to attending more field trips to explore and learn about the arts within her familiar community of College Park, MD. As she continues to be apart of the university, she aims to get involved more than she already is by more joining clubs and organizations.
