Just U is a print magazine that utilizes the content and aesthetic of a mid to late 2000s magazine publication. Its pages intend to satirize gender norms of the mainstream and showcase transgender/genderqueer identities. The work utilizes language and stylistic sensibilities of the time to immerse the viewer in the past, inviting reflection. Just U asks the audience to rethink their perceived conception of gender and how it’s informed by what is represented in popular culture.
