Throughout this semester I have learned that for my creative process it is important for me to stay organized by often writing or sketching out my ideas and research that I have conducted. This has helped me better manage my time because when I set aside a period to work, I have lots of information and ideas to work from. Before I started working on my upcycled clothing pieces, I had a clear and organized idea of what designs I was going to make. In the beginning before I had my designs planned out it was important for me to complete research on every part of my project. For example, I knew that for my project to have its greatest impact on my audience the marketing campaigns I made had to have cohesive themes as the clothing pieces I made. Along with staying organized a strategy I tried within time management was single tasking in which I only focused on researching methods for my capstone project for an allotted time. By doing this I was able to efficiently use my time and energy by not trying to complete too many tasks at once. I learned that if you focus on one task at a time you can put 100% effort into a task rather than only putting partial effort into multiple tasks. Overall, the most important skill I learned throughout the development of my final capstone proposal was that by staying clearly organized I was able to better manage my time and stay on track for completing and adding additional elements to my capstone project.
