Tropical Skirt
Aurora Megna
Textile
This is a skirt that I reworked in order to create a piece I would actually wear, giving it new life. I’ve owned this skirt for a while, but I found myself not wearing it because the length felt too long and the style didn’t reflect me. To fix this, I hemmed the bottom and adjusted the waistband for a better fit. Instead of donating it, I transformed the skirt into something personal, reflecting my thesis that clothing can evolve with us and serve as a sustainable form of self-expression.
White Top

Textile
This white going-out top was created from scratch, allowing me to fully explore my vision through fabric, fit, and form. I designed it to feel both elegant and confident, using clean lines and a tailored silhouette to highlight the body. The simplicity of the white fabric emphasizes structure and detail, reflecting my thesis that clothing can communicate identity through intentional design choices. By constructing the piece myself, I transformed raw material into something expressive and personal, showing how fashion can be both creative and empowering.
Camo Long Sleeve

Textile
This camo long sleeve reflects my interest in adapting existing clothing to better align with my personal style. Originally, the sleeves were too long and felt impractical, so I hemmed them to create a cleaner, more intentional fit. This small but purposeful change highlights my thesis that even subtle alterations can transform how a garment functions and feels. By refining the proportions, I made the piece more wearable and expressive of my identity, showing how customization can turn everyday clothing into something more personal and meaningful.
White Short Sleeve

This white short sleeve shirt reflects my interest in personalizing everyday clothing through simple but meaningful design choices. I started with a basic piece I already owned and transformed it by adding iron-on patches, giving it new character and individuality. The contrast between the plain white fabric and the bold patches draws attention to the added details, reflecting my thesis that clothing can become a form of self-expression through customization. By altering the shirt, I turned something ordinary into a unique piece that better represents my style and creativity.

This skirt was created entirely from scratch, allowing me to fully shape its design, structure, and movement. I selected the fabric and constructed the piece with intention, focusing on how it would fit and flow with the body. The process reflects my thesis that clothing can be a direct expression of creativity and identity when built from the ground up. By transforming raw material into a finished garment, I explored both technical skill and personal style, showing how fashion can be both functional and deeply expressive.
