About Me

Biography & Personal Statement

Cameron Lee is a freshman from Frederick, MD studying Journalism at the University of Maryland. His interests include film, music, writing, gardening, and baking. He wishes to use journalism to expose art to a wider audience and subsequently help it to make a positive difference in the world. He was recently hired by The Diamondback Diversions Desk as a staff writer, covering campus life and popular culture. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Journalism, he plans to work for a news organization as a music or film contributor utilizing the written world to help the world. He is considering adding a Cinema and Media Studies double major.

As a College Park Arts Scholar, Cameron intends to explore his journalistic interests through his culminating Capstone project to be completed in his sophomore year. He is excited to take full advantage of the opportunity to learn about art careers from guest artists. He also looks forward to attending field trips to explore the arts within his new community of College Park, MD. His academic goals include obtaining clips in campus publications in order to intern for local and national publications as well as graduating prepared to enter the workforce.
