Ashna Pandya is a sophomore Public Policy and Government & Politics double major at the University of Maryland from Mount Airy, MD on track to graduate in December '25. Her interests include creative writing, reading, and film. Her prospective research will examine how these art forms have been shaped and impacted by the proliferation of the internet. After graduating from UMD, Ashna, who is on a pre-law track, will pursue Intellectual Property (IP) law to help advocate for the rights of authors across the United States.
As a College Park Arts Scholar, Ashna intends to explore her research interests through her culminating Capstone project to be completed at the end of Spring '24. She is very excited about her prospective gains from the Arts Scholars program, which include branching out into new kinds of art and understanding the value of art as a diverse form of expression. She also looks forward to helping out her local arts community by way of community service through College Park Scholars. Ashna's academic goals include focused political research concerning the role of art as a political motivator, which will aid her in establishing a firm foundation for targeted application in law school and as a lawyer.
